Biography
Juan A. Pérez was born in Carrión de los Céspedes (Seville) in 1989. He began his musical training at the early age of six at the Music School of his hometown. At the age of eight, he joined the Carrión de los Céspedes Music Band, marking the beginning of a career that continues to this day, and he served as its director from 2011 to 2013.
As a composer, he started his career with the Dutch publisher Molenaar Edition, where he published his first works such as San Diego and Siracusa. In 2021, he joined the Tierolffpublishing house, also based in the Netherland, marking a milestone in his career. This collaboration has been instrumental in earning prestigious international awards, most notably the Akademia Awards (Los Angeles), the ISAC International Music Composition (Japón), el Emili Giménez Bou International Composition Prize (Valencia, España) y The Beethoven Awards (Poland).
His music has transcended borders, being performed both nationally and internationally, in countries such as Norway, Italy, Portugal, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Japan, Korea, and Mexico. Particularly noteworthy is the success of his work Habanera, recorded and performed in over twelve countries, consolidating its global impact.
He complements his compositional work with studies in band and orchestra conducting under renowned maestros such as Juan José Navarro, José Miguel Rodilla, Evan Feldman, and Vito Clemente, which has enriched his ability to work with large ensembles and develop a comprehensive artistic vision.
In the educational field, he is a clarinet teacher at the Santa Cecilia Music School and is a member of the clarinet quartet The Quartet KlarinettHe also actively participates in the Fundación Arquetopia, with branches in Mexico, Peru, and Italy, collaborating closely with The Clarinet Camerata of Mexico, to contribute to the development and promotion of music on an international level.
